When you by a sgian dubh email us and tell us which tartan you would like. They are included in the price of the Sgian dubh

meaningful leather green 300

We try to find meaningful material for our products and the material itself adds a new dimension to some fairly mundane items. Alongside our metal and wood we are adding leather. Leather from significant sources such as card cases using the leather from Soviet cold war era flying jackets and leather from WW2 era American flying jackets. Carrying these items connects you in however tenuous a way with real epic events in the history of the 20th century. Click on the image above to see the pages where this new range will appear.

You might describe the wood as sub-fossilized and it seems older than our bog oak knives which are around ten thousand years old. We only have six of them and that’s it - the wood was a chance find and except for a few pocket knives which we have made and  that’s the end of it.
